Audition registration is now closed
Auditions will be held immediately after school on Monday, January 23, 2023 from 4-6pm in the HHE gym. All grades and abilities are welcome! Students must be registered in advance to audition and will need to stay for the entire two-hour session. Students wishing to audition need to have been registered by January 19.
This is a group audition - no advance preparation is necessary - students should just be ready to listen to instructions. Let your student know that all the activities, even when they introduce themselves, is part of the audition. Tell them to use a loud voice! Be creative! AND HAVE SOME FUN!
Approximately 60 students will be cast to appear in the show with the MCT Tour Actor/Directors. Cast decisions will be announced immediately after auditions conclude at 6pm on 1/23. There is no guarantee that every student who auditions will be cast in the play. There may be cuts, but we we will have some ancillary roles available as our "Stage Stars".
All parents & caregivers of registered students who are auditioning must arrive at the gym at 6pm on Monday, 1/23, with a sack dinner as the first rehearsal for some of the students will be that same evening from 6-8pm depending on the role they are cast. More rehearsal info below.
Before registering to audition, please read and verify all the requirements below:
For some roles, rehearsals will begin immediately after auditions on 1/23 from 6-8pm. All other rehearsals will be every day after school the week of January 23rd and are broken into 2 sessions; 4-6pm & 6-8pm (Wed 2:30-4:30pm & 4:30-6:30pm). Not all cast members will be needed at every session (e.g. younger students typically rehearse only Wed-Fri). Again, those auditioning must be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role. Students must be able to skip their other commitments for the week. If your student can’t miss their other activities, then please don’t register for auditions. All spots have been filled in the past with a waitlist so there isn’t room for actors who can’t commit to all of the rehearsals and performances.
A detailed rehearsal schedule for each role will be distributed at the completion of the audition. On days cast members are scheduled for both rehearsal sessions, they need to bring a sack dinner. Please don't have food delivered to the school from a restaurant. The Friday night sessions are the dress rehearsal with a pizza party in between!
Parents and guardians are kindly asked/required to volunteer at least one time during this week. The rehearsal schedule will depend on how your student is cast. Information about volunteering coming soon. Please ensure you've completed the NSD volunteer requirements ahead of time.
