Important Requirements for ANYONE volunteering at Hollywood Hill Elementary!  Please submit your forms ASAP! Planning on volunteering this year? Classroom, library, popcorn popper, Room Parent, all volunteers must turn in the required forms prior to volunteering at the school. If you had a volunteer form at another school, you still need to fill out another one for Hollywood Hill Elementary. They are good for two years. Dyslexia Awareness Month!
October is Dyslexia Awareness Month! This is an effort to raise awareness about the learning disorder that involves difficulty in learning to read or interpret words, letters and other symbols. In Washington state, nearly 1 in 5 students, or about 20% of the population, is impacted by language-based learning disorders such as dyslexia. Even if it were 1 in 10 students, that would still mean about 2,200 students in our district are impacted by dyslexia. Want to learn more about dyslexia? Backpacks for Kids
995 students are at risk of starting school without the supplies they need.   Can you help? Since 1999, the Backpacks for Kids program has helped thousands of students start the year prepared and ready to go with everything they need.  In 2017 we completely depleted our storehouse of supplies to make sure that every student got the supplies they needed to be successful. It was exciting to meet the need in our community, but now this year we are starting from scratch to collect the necessary supplies.  We need your help more than ever to secure the donations that will serve ... read full article
