Dear HH Families - The school year is rounding down, but there was much lively discussion at our last general meeting that was held on May 22nd. The 2018-2019 PTA budget passed after a review of each line item.  We created some new programs such as an ambassador program that we are excited to launch for next year. Join us for Field Day Fun! An annual tradition, students and parents look forward to the energy and fun that's generated at Field Day! Grades 3-5 will participate in a variety of activities, like the water balloon sling, sack races, and sponge relays, just to name a few. Please meet at the gym at 9:30 a.m. to get instructions for your station. Stations are 11 minutes in length, with a short passing time in between. Each year the art docent program goes into the classrooms and teaches our students about a variety of artists and art concepts. As a result, they create fantastic projects! Northshore Schools Foundation Grant Awards to Hollywood Hill Teachers! Congratulations to Mrs. Berg (1 st Grade) and Kara Morrison (Kindergarten), recipients of the Northshore Schools Foundation classroom grants.  Mrs. Berg wrote a grant to replace the math boards for all 3 first grade classes, and Mrs Morrison wrote and won two(!) grants, one for fine motor tools, and another for RAZ-Kids subscriptions to benefit all kindergartners.  Thanks, Mrs. Berg and Mrs. Morrison, for adding to the grant-winning legacy that helps grow all our students! ... read full article

Article by Charla Griffy-Brown When we think of PTA, we often just think of moms who volunteer at the school, but Hollywood Hills Elementary is part of…. Northshore Council, which is part of PTA Region 6, which is part of  the 140,000 voice strong of PTA members in Washington State working to bring resolutions and issues to state legislators.
